LG Gaming Portal
LG Electronics (LG) has announced plans to broaden the reach of its Gaming Portal service in 2025. Currently available on LG Smart TVs running webOS 23 and above across 19 markets, the company is set to expand the service to additional regions, platforms, and devices—including LG Smart Monitors and StanbyME lifestyle screens—by the second quarter of the year.
The Gaming Portal serves as a central hub for game streaming, offering users access to a diverse library of titles through partnerships with leading cloud gaming services. These include NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Boosteroid, and Blacknut, with Xbox Cloud set to join soon. Additionally, native webOS app games will be available, providing a wide range of gaming experiences across multiple genres.
Designed for seamless accessibility, the Gaming Portal is integrated into the Home Screen, featuring an intuitive interface that simplifies game discovery and access. Users can browse a curated selection of cloud gaming platforms, webOS app games playable with a remote control, recently played titles, trending games, editor’s picks, and personalized recommendations.
The service offers a streamlined menu with options to “Play with Remote Control” or “Play with Game Pad,” making it easier to find compatible games. A dedicated “My Page” section allows users to track achievements, earn badges, and monitor their gaming progress. Additionally, the “My Games” menu lets users create and manage personalized game lists.
For those who prefer PC or console gaming, LG’s TVs support 4K at 120Hz variable refresh rate (VRR), along with NVIDIA G-SYNC® Compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium certification. LG OLED evo TVs take this a step further with 4K 165Hz VRR and VESA’s ClearMR 10000 certification.
By expanding its Gaming Portal service, LG aims to deliver an optimized gaming experience on its webOS-powered screens, offering a rich selection of content, services, and an interface tailored for gaming.
