New Nothing Phone (3)
Nothing CEO Carl Pei had previously hinted at the launch of the flagship Nothing Phone (3) in 2025, with a focus on AI capabilities. Although details about the Nothing Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Plus, and CMF Phone (2) surfaced last year, official teasers have now started to emerge for the Nothing Phone (3), codenamed Arcanine, inspired by the Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I.
This new information aligns with prior rumors suggesting the model number A059 and the Arcanine codename. There are also speculations about a possible Pro or Plus variant, potentially codenamed Hisuian Arcanine, expanding the lineup.
The Nothing Phone A059 had appeared in benchmarks last year with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, which is expected to power the Nothing Phone (3a) series. The different models in the series could feature varying configurations.
An internal memo, allegedly from Carl Pei, and shared by @evleaks (later removed), suggests that the Nothing Phone (3) will feature “breakthrough innovations” in the user interface, marking the company’s first major step toward its AI-powered platform.
The memo also hinted at a “landmark” smartphone launch planned for Q1 2025, which could indicate a release as early as February or March. Given that the Nothing Phone (2a) debuted in March 2024, there’s speculation that the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus could follow a similar timeline in March 2025.
Only time will tell, but fans can expect exciting developments from Nothing in the coming months.
